Hello
Thank you for your interest in Cyrano Education. I am Cory Lowde. Here, you will learn more about my experience and motivation in establishing this business.
Who I am, and what I do
For over 30 years, I have been teaching and leading in schools around the world. Most recently, I was, for ten years, the Headmaster of an international HMC boarding school in the South-East of England. Before that, I lived and taught in the United States. I have also been a Head of Boarding, a Director of Pastoral care, a Head of Modern Languages and a teacher of French, Sport, Geography and religious studies. For eight years, I worked in a state school in the UK.
In 2024 however, I took the decision to leave mainstream schooling so that I could work more closely with individual students and with changemakers in schools.

Using this knowledge, and combining it with my passion for AI to accelerate learning, I created 'Cyrano Education'. This is an umbrella agency specialising in advising, and working with, schools, families, agents and students. .

Why "Cyrano" Education?
I was a French teacher for many years. I enjoyed teaching my Advanced students about the play “Cyrano de Bergerac” by Edmond Rostand. It is a classic French play that tells the story of Cyrano, a brilliant and eloquent swordsman with a passionate heart. Despite his impressive talents and wit, Cyrano struggles with deep insecurity about his nose, which is very large. He believes that it makes him unworthy of love, especially from the woman he adores; Roxane. His independence and boldness, however, shine through in every aspect of his life. He remains true to his principles, never compromising his integrity, even when it costs him dearly. His gentle soul is revealed in his selfless acts, such as secretly helping the handsome Christian woo Roxane by providing him with poetic words that express Cyrano's own feelings for her.
Cyrano’s character is admirable for his inner strength, passion, and panache. He lives life with flamboyance and courage, refusing to bow to societal pressures or hide his vulnerability. His struggle to overcome his perceived ugliness reflects a deeper message about self-worth and the beauty of the soul in this day and age. I hope that calling my business "Cyrano Education" will suggest to you a commitment to authenticity, compassion, and excellence, qualities that mirror Cyrano’s ideals.
Just as Cyrano inspired others with his words and actions, I aim to empower you through integrity, creativity, and the belief that more is in you than you think.
